Tune In Speech and Music Co-Therapy Group 

Join Speech-Language Therapist Kristy McCallum and music therapist Jen Ryckaert for fun-filled group therapy sessions.  Kids will get the chance to develop friendships through musical games and activities that encourage teamwork, collaboration, the navigation of social boundaries and learning how to be appropriately assertive.  Communication confidence will develop through sharing common interests and expressing ideas and opinions, with a focus on themes that encourage personal growth and self-awareness. 

Ages:

Children aged 6-10 with or without caregiver

Mondays from 3.00 to 3.45pm

Through shared experiences with their caregivers and a music therapist, children engage with music and each other through singing, movement, instrument play and stories in these lively and nurturing weekly groups.

Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre’s Music Explorers music therapy group uses musical activities to develop the motor, social, communication and school-readiness skills of children with special needs, while also encouraging their musical sensitivity.  Together with their caregivers and a music therapist, children engage with music and each other through singing, movement, instrument play and musical games that encourage individual confidence and interpersonal growth.

Day and Time:

Fridays from 3.30 to 4.15pm

$15 per session

Remini-sing!

Find your voice in a relaxed and supportive group with no music experience required.  Here you will have the chance to play and move to music together, sing favourite songs and make some new friends, all in a supported space run by a Registered Music Therapist.  

Day and Time:

Thursday from 2.00 to 2.45pm

Cost:

$30 per couple

Tamatea High School, Hawke's Bay Regional Centre

Customised Group Programmes

RMTC can arrange group music therapy sessions specifically designed for your community group or a network of families.  Our therapists are available to facilitate sessions at our locations, or can come to you.  Music can be tailored to child or adult groups, instruments are provided and fun is guaranteed!
