Our mission is to offer a quality, accessible music therapy service to all people, whatever their needs. To that end we subsidise the cost of our programmes and never turn anyone away due to an inability to pay.
Below is an outline of our pricing structure. The actual cost of each music therapy session, consultation or review is over $140. However, we realise that is not affordable for most families, and we ask parents and caregivers to make a contribution of whatever they can afford on a sliding scale.
For those who are unable to make the minimum contribution each week there are private trusts that can be applied to for funding, as well as a subsidy scheme that RMTC operates. Under this scheme families can pay as little as $6 per session.
If you have any questions or concerns over our costs please contact Rachel Farrell on 09 360 0889 who is happy to discuss this with you. We never want financial concerns to prove a barrier to our service.
Sessions and review meetings are invoiced on a monthly basis at the end of each month, in arrears. Payment is due on the 20th of the following month. Weekly billing can be arranged if preferred. Consultations must be paid for at the time.
The simplest way to pay is via online banking but we can accept cash and credit card (not eftpos) at the Centre. Further payment options are available on request.
Outreach and Group Work
We also offer programmes at schools and outreach facilities, as well as customised group programmes. Fees for these are available upon request. To enquire about these options, or request a quote, please contact Jen Ryckaert via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Funders and subsidies
Financial support is available for parents and caregivers who are unable to make the suggested contribution towards music therapy. An application can be made by completing the Subsidy Application Form using the link below and returning it to Jen Ryckaert.
Subsidy Application Form
This subsidy programme is only for those families who are paying for their music therapy sessions privately. Anyone receiving outside funding must notify RMTC immediately to allow other families to benefit from this programme. This subsidy scheme is only possible through the generous support of grant funders and donors, to whom the Centre is incredibly grateful.
It is possible to use one hour of Carer Support towards each music therapy session, which reduces the minimum contribution by $10.92. Forms need to be provided to RMTC every two to three months who will claim this portion back from the Ministry of Health. To use carer support towards music therapy sessions please contact Rachel Farrell via email@example.com.
It is possible to use Individualised Funding towards the costs of music therapy. In order to qualify for Individualised Funding a Needs Assessment is required by the Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) agency. If respite is covered the Administrator for the NASC in turn would need to authorise if music therapy is covered. RMTC can invoice the Administrator directly for music therapy sessions if required.
There are organisations and trusts who may be able to provide financial support towards the cost of music therapy sessions. Usually these come as a one off grant covering six months to one year of sessions. More information is available on their websites, via the links below, along with application dates and guidelines. Contact Jen Ryckaert for a quote to support your application. CP Society Get Physical Vouchers can also be used towards music therapy for children with a GMFCS Level IV classification.
