As of the 29th September, Aotearoa officially holds the Guinness World Record for the largest haka. Together, we have restored this record to its rightful home, and raised much-needed funds for the Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust.

None of this would have been possible without our supporters, and on behalf of the Trust, staff, and clients of Raukatauri, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all involved.

If you were there on the day, you'll know how special it was to hear over 6,500 voices raised in unison to perform the Ka Mate haka, led by the descendants of its author, Te Rauparaha. Below are some images of the unforgettable occasion (credit: Smoke Photo & Video).

Every participant and spectator ticket purchased represented a koha to Raukatauri, supporting our mission to provide affordable, accessible, high-quality music therapy to all in Aotearoa, whatever their needs.

We are thrilled to announce that the Haka Record raised in excess of $270,000 for this mahi! WOW!!!

In the video below, you can see what this means to our clients and their whānau.

This labour of love involved collaborations with so many generous individuals and organisations – too many to list here – but below are some of the key groups who gave their time and/or resources to make the haka record a reality.

Thank you so much for your part in restoring the haka record to Aotearoa. This represents a lasting legacy for te ao Māori, for Tāmaki Makaurau, and for Raukatauri
