Cassandra Laird
Master of Music Therapy Student
Auckland Regional Centre
Cassandra is currently in her second year of studying a Master’s in Music Therapy at Victoria University of Wellington, and has recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology from the University of Auckland. She was born and raised in Auckland, where music was an integral part of her life from a young age. Growing up, Cassandra played the violin as her primary instrument, which laid the foundation for her deep love of music.
Over the past seven years, she has worked as a music teacher, where her experiences working with neurodivergent children sparked her interest in music therapy. Cassandra has a special passion for working with children and older adults but believes the transformative power of music can improve the lives of all. She aspires to spend her life making a positive impact on people’s health and well-being through the use of music.
